Our Mission
MISSION
ASH-PBFF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of animals by providing lasting solutions through programs that inspire and empower dog owners and communities to form strong relationships between their pets and each other.
PURPOSE
ASH-PBFF will serve as an extension to local shelters and rescue organizations, to provide much-needed resources that are currently very limited. ASH-PBFF will also provide assistance to individual dog owners that need help rehoming their dog. We have learned that rescues and shelters are overwhelmed and unable to assist dog owners and communities with different and unique challenges they each face. Rescue organizations have limited resources available to assist the number of dogs that need help. Most are foster-based and shelters are often full. Dogs can be fragile, shy, frightened and are often inappropriately identified as aggressive making it not suitable to be placed into foster care immediately. Behavior assessments are often not accurate because the dogs are evaluated in a stressful environment, not able to relax and therefore show false readings of their behavior. The challenges that rescue organizations face are becoming increasingly harder, limiting the number of dogs than can be saved.
ASH-PBFF -BULLY Program
WE FIGHT FOR THEM SO THEY DON’T HAVE TO!
As proud owners of pit bulls, we are devastated by the stigmas associated with owning them. Pit Bull type looking dogs are the hardest dogs to place because of the misguided, and often misleading information. It is our goal to provide awareness and educate the public of the true characteristics of the “Bullies”.
The statement/belief/assumption that the Pitbull is a dangerous dog, is not accurate! Just like humans, dogs are individuals and should be judged as such. ASH-PBFF is committed to educating the public to recognize that signs of aggression are NOT the dogs (pitbull) choice or fault.
The only thing inherently dangerous about us (The Pitbull) is an uneducated opinion”
